Esprit is GlaxoSmithKline’s flagship global talent development programme for MBAs/postgraduates, which creates a pipeline of diverse leaders, with the right capabilities and behaviours to drive GSK’s future strategic challenges. Our goal is to support, stretch, develop and deliver leaders of the future. You will build your breadth of experience and leadership capabilities through this accelerated development programme which offers you:

- International rotations in relevant areas of the business.
- Networking and mentoring with senior leaders, plus individual coaching support.
- Formal training which includes an annual development week that brings all Associates together from across the globe.

The Esprit programme consists of 4 year rotational programmes involving international rotations. You will require unrestricted working rights for your home country, which is the first rotation. You will rotate onto two, one year international rotations where GSK will sponsor Visas. The fourth year of the programme will be in the home country where you started in the 1st year of the programme. Your home country is where you will off board into a senior leadership position at the end of the 4 year programme.

Esprit Finance

Our Esprit Finance programme is open to exceptional MBA or MIF postgraduates from a variety of backgrounds, with a passion for finance. The Esprit Finance Programme is focused on developing world class Finance leaders in a world class organization. You don’t need to have prior finance experience. In fact, our Associates have come from a range of backgrounds including Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, Engineering and Entrepreneurship. You do however need to have a passion to pursue a finance career in a healthcare environment. We want to recruit individuals and develop you as leaders with the right capabilities and behaviours. This will enable you to identify and lead the delivery of value for our people, our customers and our shareholders.

Esprit Commercial Consumer Healthcare

Our Esprit Commercial Consumer Healthcare Programme aims to develop a pipeline of multi-skilled, diverse commercial leaders who will take an accountability to drive GSK Consumer Healthcare business to help people to do more, feel better and leave longer. For the Consumer programme we require experience in the commercial area and look for a passion in sales and marketing. We look for candidates who have a strong interest to develop a career in the consumer healthcare industry and we are seeking applicants who have strong digital capabilities. 

Esprit Commercial Pharmaceuticals International

The Esprit Commercial (Pharmaceutical) Programme is focused on developing Commercial leaders with the right capabilities and behaviors to grow and diversify our business in the future.

 We are looking for applicants who have a passion for healthcare and want to make a difference to patient’s lives. It is desirable for candidates to have a commercial Pharmaceutical background. The type of rotations you will undertake involve management at a national or regional level and usually include sales, marketing and roles tailored to fulfill your long term career goals.

Esprit Commercial Vaccines

The Vaccines Commercial programme offers international experience, intensive personal development, on-the-job coaching and access to senior business leaders. To apply for the Vaccines programme it is not a requirement that you have a Healthcare background, but you will require a passion to join the industry.Experience in the commercial area with a passion for sales and marketing is desirable. We also look for a track record of taking accountability in both team and individual situations.

First round interviews for those selected (by telephone/video or face to face) will be scheduled for late October- early November.
Finalist candidates will be invited to join Assessment Centres mid/late November or early December.
May – September 2017 – New Associates will join the Esprit programme.
